Wednesday Wire, March 2, 2022

Parents,

Ash Wednesday is the first day in the season of Lent. Lent can be observed by all Christians, and it is a beautiful way to remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us and prepare us for the Easter season. During Lent, we remember the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert being tempted by the devil. We do extra prayers, fasting, and almsgiving during this season of Lent. Ash Wednesday has many traditions for Catholic families and ways to observe this day, and anything you are doing for the length of Lent will start on this day. Here are some ideas for Ash Wednesday (https://www.catholicicing.com/ash-wednesday-for-kids/) and Lent (https://www.catholicicing.com/lenten-activities-for-children/)for your family and your home.

“Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”                                                                                                    -2 Corinthians 6:2

 Reminders

  • Don’t forget about our annual systemwide survey.  Please make sure that you click on St. Louis Catholic School and then begin the survey. This survey information is vital to the continuous improvement of St. Louis Catholic School.  We truly value your thoughts and ideas. Here is the survey link: https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/186103/p3039
  • Please do not get in the carpool line early! If you only have children in the “big school” (1-8 grades), please do not get in the carpool line until after 2:50 pm. The ECC dismissal is from 2:30-2:50. When the big school carpool line begins too early, it prevents ECC parents from being able to get in the parking lot for pick up. Thank you for your continued help with this.
