Welcome.

Brothers and Sisters,

I am excited to welcome you to the opportunities God has provided at St. Louis Catholic School!

Are you looking for a Parish and School to call home? Do you want to walk with Jesus as you reclaim the importance of "family"? Are you looking for ways your family can grow spiritually and serve God?

You are in the right place! Please take the time, with your family, to explore the St. Louis Catholic School website. You will quickly see how your family fits into the spiritual, educational, and extra-curricular clubs and programs of St. Louis Catholic School.

Over the past 50 years, we have served families in the development of their child's education, morals, and spiritual life. We are a forerunner in the Diocese of Memphis. We offer opportunities to build life-long relationships, grow in the willingness to serve God, develop attitudes of caring for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and expand our knowledge of the Church and Religious matters.

We have created doctors, engineers, chief executive officers (CEO s), chief financial officers (CFO s), craftsmen, salesman; an abundant list of occupations. What we have not produced, as yet, is a Canonized Saint, a Pope, a Governor, or a President of our country. With God's Grace and our cooperation, these occupations are possible and will become our goal and commitment. Are we ready for a journey? Come on in!

You will not be alone. Our dedicated and professional staff puts your child's growth as a top priority. Our army of volunteers welcomes you and will help you see how your family fits into the family at St. Louis Catholic Church and school! Your Guardian Angel and the Holy Spirit will guide you through this decision-making process.

St. Jerome said, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." I would like to add, "Ignorance of Catholic Faith, Spirituality and Formation is ignorance of Christ and Eternal Salvation." We don't just teach for life, but we teach and mold your family for Eternal Life!

Please take the time to sit with Our Blessed Mother, and Holy Spirit. Talk with them; pray with them. Feel their strength and serenity. Bring them with you as you come to meet me and the staff at the school. Know that Jesus said, "With God all things are possible" (Matthew19:26).

Letter from

Welcome to St. Louis Catholic School

St. Louis has a long history, over 50 years of educating and molding future leaders in our community. We are very family oriented and brag of many generations of families who have attended, loved and supported our school. Originally led by the service and sacrifice of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, we continue their long tradition of excellence as we continue to be a loving parish school with emphasis on high academic standards, utilization of technology, service to others and strong religious formation.

As you walk through the doors of St. Louis, you will see a traditional parish school with a loving and caring staff willing to go that extra mile to meet the individual needs of their students.

We are committed to making sure that our students receive many opportunities to explore their interests and to utilize technology, better preparing them for a fruitful life in the 21st century. We offer a coeducational experience from preschool through 8th grade. Students enjoy participating in student council, choir, orchestra, clubs, Knowledge Bowl, Scouts, and much more.

We have a strong athletic program which includes football, volleyball, cross country, golf, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, and baseball.  Our volunteer coaches provide instruction in the foundations of their sport and most importantly, impart the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Our teachers take seriously their role in the faith formation of our students as they bring our Catholic faith alive in their religion classes and sacramental preparation. Students attend Mass weekly, joining with the church community to praise, pray and worship.

I invite you to drop by and visit to see for yourself the great things that are happening here at St. Louis Catholic School.

I look forward to meeting you! Peace and Blessings,

–Mrs. Teddi Niedzwiedz, Principal

Spiritual Life

As a Catholic parish school, St. Louis focuses on the spiritual formation of our students, while realizing that the first teachers are our parents. Our Catholic faith is promoted by attendance at weekly Mass and celebration of the sacraments. Each day our school begins the day with reflection and prayer. Students also participate in praying the Angelus at noon.

The traditions of the church are celebrated through participation in Stations of the Cross, all school Masses, Advent services and projects, and retreats for grades six through eight, to name just a few of our activities.

Students are encouraged to model the teachings of Catholicism through community service. Students visit our Eucharistic adoration chapel and the meditation garden for individual reflection.

Sacraments

St. Louis is a parish school which focuses on the spiritual growth of our students.

Our students attend Mass once a week and on First Fridays of every month. Students in the second grade receive sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. During the season of Lent, students participate in Stations of the Cross every Friday.

Our students also participate in spiritual retreats in the sixth through eighth grades. Our parish priests are regular visitors to the classrooms. Our eighth grade Catholic students receive instruction in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation throughout the second semester of their eighth grade year. These students receive this sacrament at a special ceremony in the spring.

History
of SLS.

St. Louis School opened its doors in the fall of 1957 under the leadership of the Dominican sisters. Monsignor Paul Clunan, the pastor at that time, welcomed three hundred and twelve students in grades one through eight. Our facility sits on twenty two acres at the corner of White Station and Shady Grove Road.

St. Louis, through a rich tradition of Catholic education and academic excellence, has grown to approximately five hundred students in grades pre-K through eight. The school is currently served by our pastor, Reverend Jolly Sebastian and three associate pastors along with our principal, Mrs. Teddi Niedzwiedz.

St. Louis opened a three and four year old pre-school in 2010. Our school now serves students in three year old pre-school through eighth grade. A supplemental program to enhance the traditional classroom instruction is provided through Learning Lab and our SOARing Enrichment program. We also offer advanced classes for our junior high students.

Our facilities include twenty-two classrooms, a makerspace, library media center, learning lab, foreign language room, music room, art room, guidance office, cafeteria and administrative offices. We also boast a football field, two gymnasiums, two soccer fields, three baseball/softball fields and two playgrounds.

We have expanded to add a junior high wing that houses eight classrooms, science lab, music studio, and distance learning center.

Throughout our long history of educating students, our St. Louis Parish and School continue to serve the community through faith filled actions, service to others, and the education of outstanding individuals.

St. Louis School is accredited by AdvancED, AdvancED STEM certified, and certified by the State Board of Education. St. Louis is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.
