Parents,
During Lent, we are invited to follow Jesus and enter the wilderness to prepare ourselves for times of testing and to become more aware of how God is present in our lives and around us.
It is a time to get away from the busyness of life, to simplify our lives, and to look at ourselves and our lives and reflect on how our lives have and can have meaning in the world.
These forty days can feel like an awfully long time for children. As parents, we have a responsibility to help our families faithfully observe Lent. Though it can seem difficult at times, the season of Lent provides an especially meaningful time to instruct children.
As we enter this time of penance, don’t underestimate your children! While their offerings should be age appropriate, they can still make real sacrifices. If you’re helping your children to choose what they should do this Lent, here are a few options to consider: https://stpaulcenter.com/what-can-children-do-for-lent/
Announcements
- STEM Family Night is tomorrow, Thursday, February 24. All families are invited. Come see the sixth grade STEM Fair and celebrate our winners. Grade level STEM projects will also be on display. The Green Beetle food truck will be on site to provide dinner! The menu is in the Wednesday Wire. We hope to see everyone there to see the hard work of our students!
- Friday’s (February 25) lunch menu in the dining hall has changed from pizza to pepperoni calzones. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
- Don’t forget about our annual systemwide survey. Please make sure that you click on St. Louis Catholic School and then begin the survey. This survey information is vital to the continuous improvement of St. Louis Catholic School. We truly value your thoughts and ideas. Here is the survey link: https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/186103/p3039
- Baseball for 1-4 grade registration closes on February 28. Practices begin as soon as we return from spring break. Please click on this link to register your child: https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/292615
- Micro t-ball registration opens on March 1, 2022.
Reminders
- Please do not get in the carpool line early! If you only have children in the “big school” (1-8 grades), please do not get in the carpool line until after 2:50 pm. The ECC dismissal is from 2:30-2:50. When the big school carpool line begins too early, it prevents ECC parents from being able to get in the parking lot for pick up. Thank you for your continued help with this.
- Spring Golf Registration for 6, 7, 8 Grade Boys & Girls is available at: https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/302545
