During Lent, we are invited to follow Jesus and enter the wilderness to prepare ourselves for times of testing and to become more aware of how God is present in our lives and around us.
It is a time to get away from the busyness of life, to simplify our lives, and to look at ourselves and our lives and reflect on how our lives have and can have meaning in the world.
These forty days can feel like an awfully long time for children. As parents, we have a responsibility to help our families faithfully observe Lent. Though it can seem difficult at times, the season of Lent provides an especially meaningful time to instruct children.
As we enter this time of penance, don’t underestimate your children! While their offerings should be age appropriate, they can still make real sacrifices. If you’re helping your children to choose what they should do this Lent, here are a few options to consider:

- The Cardinal 5K registration site is open. The race is April 1 at 9:00, followed by a one-mile fun run. There will be a jeans day for race participants to wear their t-shirts after the event. - Donations are still being accepted for our Day of Service and Retreat. St. Louis Parish Director of Religious Education, Stephanie Novarese, is requesting your help with donations for our fifth through eighth graders service day. All families are encouraged to donate.
