Announcements
  • No School Friday – Parent-Teacher Conferences & Coffee!  Just a reminder that there will be no school this Friday, October 23, due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. While you're on campus for conferences, be sure to stop by the Monkeygrass Mayhem Coffee Truck, which will be at St. Louis from 7:00–11:00 AM! Treat yourself to a delicious coffee or refreshing drink while you're here. We look forward to seeing our parents on Friday!
  • All St. Louis students and parents are invited and encouraged to attend our annual Open House on Sunday, November 8, from 1:15–2:15 PM! Come celebrate all the wonderful things happening at St. Louis Catholic School! Explore our classrooms, visit with our dedicated teachers, and see firsthand the incredible work our students are doing each day. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience the Cardinal spirit and see what makes St. Louis such a special place to learn, grow, and thrive!
  • Crazy for Our Country is Monday, November 9. Through this day the Student Council will be raising money for Folds of Honor. Folds of Honor provides scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled service members and all first responders. Check out next week’s Wednesday Wire for more details.
  • The SLS Student Council is proud to host our annual Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 11 at 8:30 AM! This special tradition gives our St. Louis School community the opportunity to come together to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. We warmly invite all veterans in our St. Louis families to join us as we recognize their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation. Please help us make this a memorable celebration by inviting the veterans in your family to be our honored guests!
  • William (3B) and Jacob (JKB) Schoenberger are excited to invite you to visit their new business, Little Diggers Playspace. There are two giant sandboxes with more than 200 toys for hands-on play. Since school is closed this Friday, if you are 7 or under and looking for something to do, come hang out at Little Diggers where kids can dig, build, and explore in a safe, sensory-rich environment. Mention St. Louis School to receive a 10% friends & family discount on Friday, October 23!  If you can't make it on Friday, we are open every day from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. https://www.littlediggersplayspace.com/locations/memphis-tennessee For questions contact mike@memphis.littlediggersplayspace.com.
Reminders
  • Our Charleston Wrap Fall Fundraiser began on Monday, October 12 and ends on November 2. Fundraiser packets were sent home this week. Help us reach our fundraising goal!
  • Calling All Ghouls and Goblins! Our Home & School is howling out for brave souls to pass out candy at Treat Trail at the Parish Picnic. You will set up along the walking path and spots are first come, first serve. You can be as elaborate as you want or just set up a chair with your bowl of candy. Home and School will provide a few bags of candy to get each group started. Please consider volunteering your time to make this a fun event for the kiddos! No electricity will be provided. Sign up (if you dare) Treat Trail Sign-Up.
  • We’re on the Hunt for Sweet Treats! Our Home & School Treat Trail needs mountains of candy — and we’re counting on you to help fill our cauldrons! Drop off your candy donations in the school office by October 22. Please label candy with your child’s homeroom. The class with the most candy donations wins a sweats day!
  • Pig Day is Back! The St. Louis Men’s Club Pig Day returns Sunday, November 8, from 11:30 AM–6:00 PM in the SLS Dining Hall! Stop by for BBQ sandwiches, BBQ nachos, sausage & cheese plates, whole BBQ butts, and Pitmaster J. Whitley’s famous ribs. Preorder by November 1 for whole BBQ butts or ribs. Hot-off-the-smoker preorders will be available for pickup on Saturday, November 7, from 3:00–6:00 PM. Come hungry and support the St. Louis Men’s Club!
  • Girls Lacrosse Fall Program All girls in grades 3–8 are invited to join Stars 901 Lacrosse Club for an introduction to the fastest-growing girls’ sport in the Mid-South! Stars 901 serves girls from Catholic schools throughout the Memphis area. Nearly 30 SLS girls participated in Stars 901 teams last season, and a majority of the club’s coaches are SLS parents. Fall sessions begin October 25 and will be held Sunday afternoons at SLS through Thanksgiving. Girls in 7th and 8th grade who are considering playing lacrosse in high school are especially encouraged to participate. For more information, visit stars901lax.com or contact SLS parent Ken Kimble (Erin, 7th grade) at 901-568-1922.
