School pictures were sent home this week. All families are asked to submit picture orders or return unpurchased pictures to your child’s homeroom teacher by THIS Friday, October 16. DO NOT send in payment. You will be billed for your picture order through FACTS. If no orders or pictures are returned by Friday, we will assume you are keeping the whole package, and we will bill you for Package #1 ($25.00) through FACTS. If your child is having pictures retaken, please turn in the original pictures so you are not charged. Make-up picture day is Wednesday, October 21.

TOMORROW, Thursday, October 15, is a schoolwide spirit day. K-8 grade students will attend a pep rally at 2:00 PM honoring all 7/8 grade fall athletes. All students may come out of uniform but must wear SLS shirts only (spirit shop, field day, PE, etc.) Seventh and eighth grade athletes are encouraged to wear their St. Louis sports jerseys. Shirts must be worn under sleeveless or mesh jerseys. There is no cost to participate in this day.

Our Charleston Wrap Fall Fundraiser began on Monday, October 12 and ends on November 2. Fundraiser packets were sent home this week. Help us reach our fundraising goal!

Parent/Teacher Conferences are on October 23. An email from Mrs. Troy with the SignUpGenius was sent out yesterday and will close on Monday, October 19 at noon. If you are unable to schedule a conference because slots are full, please email your child's teacher to schedule a time.

Calling All Ghouls and Goblins! Our Home & School is howling out for brave souls to pass out candy at Treat Trail at the Parish Picnic. You will set up along the walking path, spots are first come, first serve. You can be as elaborate as you want or just set up a chair with your bowl of candy. We will provide a few bags of candy to get each group started. Please consider volunteering your time to make this a fun event for the kiddos! No electricity will be provided. We’re on the Hunt for Sweet Treats! Our Home & School Treat Trail needs mountains of candy — and we’re counting on you to help fill our cauldrons! Drop off your candy donations in the school office by October 22. Please label candy with your child’s homeroom. The class with the most candy donations wins a sweats day!

Our annual Junior High Coffee Chat is this Friday, October 16 at 8:15 AM in the St. John Paul II Youth Ministry Center for all current St. Louis sixth grade parents and prospective junior high families.

St. Louis Men’s Club Golf Scramble Join us October 18 at The Links at Galloway for a great day of golf, fellowship, and fun! Lunch begins at 11:30 AM, followed by a 12:30 PM shotgun start. Registration is $125 per player/$500 per team. Limited spots remain. The deadline for signing up is TODAY, Wednesday, October 14. See the Wednesday Wire for more details.

Pig Day is Back! The St. Louis Men’s Club Pig Day returns Sunday, November 8, from 11:30 AM–6:00 PM in the SLS Dining Hall! Stop by for BBQ sandwiches, BBQ nachos, sausage & cheese plates, whole BBQ butts, and Pitmaster J. Whitley’s famous ribs. Preorder by November 1 for whole BBQ butts or ribs. Hot-off-the-smoker preorders will be available for pickup on Saturday, November 7, from 3:00–6:00 PM. Come hungry and support the St. Louis Men’s Club!

Girls Lacrosse Fall Program All girls in grades 3–8 are invited to join Stars 901 Lacrosse Club for an introduction to the fastest-growing girls’ sport in the Mid-South! Stars 901 serves girls from Catholic schools throughout the Memphis area. Nearly 30 SLS girls participated in Stars 901 teams last season, and a majority of the club’s coaches are SLS parents. Fall sessions begin October 25 and will be held Sunday afternoons at SLS through Thanksgiving. Girls in 7th and 8th grade who are considering playing lacrosse in high school are especially encouraged to participate.
