Announcements

This Friday, August 21, is a schoolwide spirit day. K-8 grade students will attend a pep rally honoring all 5/6 grade fall athletes. All students may come out-of-uniform but must wear SLS shirts only (spirit shop, field day, PE, etc.) Fifth and sixth grade athletes are encouraged to wear their SLS team jerseys. Shirts must be worn under sleeveless or mesh jerseys. Leggings are never permitted on out of uniform days. The only shorts permitted on this day are the SLS PE uniform shorts and the boys’ navy uniform shorts. There is no cost to participate in this day. Students who choose not to participate are expected to be in full school uniform.

Our Cub Scout Pack 341 Ice Cream Social is on Sunday, August 30 for Kindergarten through fifth grade boys and their parents who are interested in joining this year. See Wednesday Wire for more details.

The St. Louis Men’s Club Kick-off Dinner and Meeting is Sunday, August 30 at 7:15 in the Clunan Center. See the Wednesday Wire for more details.

Please mark your calendars! MAP Growth testing will take place September 14–18. These assessments provide our teachers with valuable information about each student’s academic growth and help us identify areas of strength and opportunities for continued learning.

To help your child do their best, we ask families to:

- Avoid scheduling doctor, dentist, or other appointments during the mornings that week whenever possible.
- Make attendance a priority so students do not have to complete make-up testing.
- Arrive at school on time each day. A calm, unrushed start makes a difference!
- Prioritize a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast so students are rested and ready to focus.

Calling All Dads! Make plans to join the Men’s Club for Back-to-School Happy Hour THIS Friday, August 21 from 6:00-9:00 PM in the St. John Paul II Youth Ministry Center. Come learn how the Men’s Club supports St. Louis Youth Ministries, athletics, and scouting and how you can get involved!

If your 5-8 grader completed service hours this summer (May 23-August 27, 2026), please make sure he/she logs them in to x2Vol by Thursday, August 27, 2026.

We are grateful for the many parents and grandparents who generously give their time to serve our school community. Anyone wishing to volunteer in any capacity at St. Louis School (library, dining hall, coaching, field trip driving, etc.) must have current VIRTUS training and a signed Code of Conduct on the VIRTUS website.
